Gamers Time Forum Rules
Inappropriate/Non G-Rated Discussions
Posts which contain subjects such as: foul language/cussing, nudity and s*x, violence, warez, drug or alcohol use (or any other illegal substance), and/or that may be offensive to parents of younger children, will be removed immediately. This includes foul language, acronyms in place of foul language, inappropriate pictures or external website links that may be inappropriate for children. If you are uncertain as to whether a certain word, image, or link is allowed, contact a moderator or an administrator before adding it to this site.
Personal Information
Asking for or volunteering personal information is not allowed. Personal information consists of Password/Account Information, School Information, Home Address, and other similar details. This also applies to posting pictures. We also do not allow "Meet-Up" threads.
We have no control on what is put on social networking (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), So proceed with caution when using these sites in relation to Gamers Time.
Advertising/Asking for Donations
While we at Gamers Time understand that donating money to worthy causes can be an uplifting experience, we ask that users use other sites to ask for these donations or advertise for causes. We are specifically referring to real life monetary donations and advertising for real life events/occurrences. If you believe an exception should be made for your particular advertising/donation cause, please contact a Gamers Time administrator.
Flaming
Any posts that are hateful or mean in nature will be removed immediately. We do not tolerate attacks based on race, religion, gender, s**ual orientation, political affiliation, or any posts indicating grieving other users on the forums or in game. Personal threats or harassment is not tolerated. This includes posting pictures representing an attack. Debate opinions and not the people behind them.
Trolling
Intentionally posting false arguments, flames or personal attacks for no other purpose than to incite a negative reaction, annoy others or disrupt a discussion is also prohibited. These perpetrators are known as "trolls".
Disrespect
Content that is disrespectful will not be tolerated and will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to: calling people names, insulting others, starting arguments, using hurtful sarcasm, publicly criticizing staff members, and refusing to heed warnings set forth by forum staff.
Highly Controversial Topics
These conversations tend to lead to violent outbursts based on strong personal beliefs. Posts which contain political commentary, religious or other highly controversial topics will be removed and action will be taken depending on the severity. These topics may (but are not limited to) contain beliefs/opinions on religion, political subject matter (i.e., new governmental laws, candidates, etc.), abortion, sexual orientation and/or highly controversial current events. This rule does not apply to the debates section.
Spamming
"Spam" refers to posting identical and/or irrelevant messages in one thread or many different threads that has nothing to do with the intended subject that disrupts a thread or fills the message board with clutter. Mass PMing people you don't know or who haven't invited you to PM them, boosting post count, excessive bumping of threads, one or two word replies (i.e. ok, LOL, Yes, agreed, nods) and the excessive use of smileys as a response are all considered "spam".
Also, double posting (posting one post right after another) is considered spam and will be merged/removed.
Signatures
Signatures are customizable blocks of content automatically appended below a user’s post. Inappropriate pictures or links to inappropriate content in signatures are prohibited. Images in signatures should not be so wide as to unnaturally stretch users’ browser pages. Signatures violating Gamers Time rules are subject to removal.
Off-topic/Nonsense posts/Excessive Chat-speak
If your post/thread doesn't make sense or is filled with gibberish, these posts will be removed. While we expect that some topics will stray a bit, if it completely hijacks the thread and/or disrupts the flow, those posts will either be removed or split into its own thread, and extremely discouraged.
Thread Hijacking
Thread hijacking is when one or more individuals commenting on the original posting go off topic, create a separate conversation, try to take over a thread, or anything similar in nature. This includes posting negative comments or comments that detract from the overall theme of a thread. Anything of this nature will be considered to be thread hijacking and warned/infracted appropriately.
All Private Conversations are to be Kept Private
Anyone posting conversations that were done via PM or IM will be warned. These conversations are private for a reason. This can also be considered "baiting" by posting a conversation with the goal of starting something.
Plagiarism
Do not steal other people's works and post them on this forum as your own. If you find something cool, that you'd like to share, please provide a link to that site. If you are using information from another site, you must credit them in the post. Stealing information and calling it your own will not be tolerated.
On the other side of that:
Our Content on your Site
If we find you have copied anything from this forum onto your site without providing the proper credit/link, we will ask you to remove it. If you don't, we will ban your IP address from this forum and we will contact your host about this. Our members put a lot of effort into our original content. Please respect this. Feel free to tell others about things here, but DO NOT copy it and use it as your own.
Posting Links
We ask that before posting a link that you check with an admin or moderator. Reason being is so that we can check to make sure you are not sharing links that may contain a key logger or any type of virus, or posting a link that will ask for personal information or information regarding your Gamers Time account. We want our members to be safe.
Approved links: YouTube, Photobucket, Imgur, Facebook...
Impersonation of other Users & Staff
Creating accounts on the site with similar names of existing users or staff from Gamers Time in order to cause chaos or misconceptions towards that person is not allowed and it can lead to permanent suspension from the site.
Backseat Moderating
Backseat moderating occurs when a user who is not a moderator attempts to reprimand another user. Backseat moderators publicly point out that a user is breaking a rule or quote the Gamers Time Rules in a post to warn other users. Instead of backseat moderating, please use the Report Post button "Report Post" located in the settings (the small gear) at the top of the post. Members are not allowed to "act" as moderators (backseat moderate).
Multiple/Sharing Accounts
Members are only allowed a couple usernames per person in a household and are strongly discouraged from sharing accounts with other family members and/or friends. In terms of guideline violations, Gamers Time moderators/administrators may track multiple shared accounts from single or multiple computers as one account. If a guideline violation is severe enough, it may become necessary to ban/delete one or all of the usernames on the same computer, depending on the severity. You are responsible for anyone and everyone who uses your account and/or accesses other accounts from your computer.
Language
This is an English-speaking forum. Any other language expressed on the forum is not allowed. This is because on the forum, the majority of people only speak English and your posts can be seen by everyone.
GIFs/Animated Images
Animated, or GIF images, are only allowed to be included in discussion posts when put in spoiler tags. You do not need to use spoiler tags in Forum Games as long as they relate to the game and are not spam. Animated images that may induce migraines or seizures (i.e. rapidly flashing lights and colors) are prohibited for the safety of other members.
Moderators and Administration
Moderators and administrators of these sites monitor your compliance with the rules of the site and dispense disciplinary action at their discretion. If you have concerns regarding an incident, please feel free to discuss the matter with them via a PM. Do not create a new topic simply for the purposes of questioning a moderator's decision. Any posts containing inappropriate content will either be edited or removed from the forums and a warning and/or infraction will be issued. If you are consistent about posting this sort of content after you have been warned you will be permanently suspended from the site.
Gamers Time has a wonderful group of Moderators who have volunteered to assist our visitors and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities are ensuring that our guidelines are followed, which may require that a thread is edited, deleted, closed or moved. If these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to an admin. Any discussion about a Moderating decision that takes place on the boards will not be tolerated. This includes member posts about or from a banned or suspended.
Attempting to bypass a suspension by accessing the forums with another account will result in a permanent, immediate suspension.
Keep in mind that Moderators/Administrators have the final say about what happens on the forums and their decisions are final.
